The Medicare EPC Rebate – bulk billing Patients for Clinical Pilates

By Andrew Cunningham
Chiropractor

My name is Andrew Cunningham, and I am the Owner of the Allied Health Clinic, Advanced Health located in Preston. The services we currently have on offer are: Clinical Pilates, Massage Therapy, Chiropractic, Personal Training, Dry Needle/ Acupuncture Therapy, Custom made Orthotics, Ergonomic Workstation Assessments.

I have been a practicing Chiropractor since 2010 and I am also a qualified Clinical Pilates Instructor, Dry Need list and Personal Trainer. I consider myself to take an evidence-based approach, and as such practise a wide variety of techniques to assist my patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Such techniques include STT, Dry Needling, Mobilisation, light manipulations and Clinical Pilates exercises.

I do not practise one method exclusively, and tailor my treatment style to suit my patient’s needs. As a result, a single treatment on a patient may include dry needling (acupuncture) to tight muscles, massage, mobilisation and low force (safe) chiropractic techniques and finally a Clinical Pilates Regime tailored to the patient’s neurological imbalances and muscle weaknesses. Further to this, my background in personal training and Clinical Pilates enables me to prescribe effective post-treatment exercise regimes for specific conditions and injuries. Through this process I have found there is an incredible benefit to practising clinical Pilates for mitigating lower back pain, which is why I have begun bulk billing those patients who are currently on the EPC program. This enables patients to a 45 minute one-on-one Clinical Pilates Session with myself for no out of pocket expense.

Kind Regards,
Andrew Cunningham
