This is a very common concern if it’s your first time getting a massage at Advanced Health. Rest assured, both Hiromi and George are more than capable of applying deep pressure. Hiromi has worked with world class athletes who rely on her strength to perform at their peak, and George is a long term weight lifter.

If it’s your first appointment we generally recommend you book for 1 hour minimum.

Yes. After your 1st tri-mester we can tailor a workout plan that will work for you.
Is reformer pilates recommended to strengthen my core post labour?
Yes it is. Ask your doctor when he recommends you begin exercising again. This may vary from client to client based on factors around your pregnancy and labour.
Should I book a private class or group class?
If you are pregnant, book a private class first. We can put you in a group class after this appointment if it’s deemed appropriate.
Will massage help my back pain whilst I am pregnant?
In most cases it can help take the pain out of pregnancy in your lower back and neck.
Is this painful?
In the fast majority of cases no, not at all. In fact, a deep tissue massage will be a lot more painful than Dry Needling. You will feel nothing when majority of the needles are inserted. Occasionally you may feel a light hair being pulled sensation. It is extremely rare that you will experience a large amount of pain.
What’s the difference between Dry Needling and Acupuncture
They are essentially the same. The application of the needle being inserted into the skin/ muscle is the same. The philosophy is different. Acupuncture uses Chinese medicine techniques to ascertain where to place the needles. Dry needling is a westernised treatment, where the needles are placed in relation to the injury the patient has presented with e.g. if you are experiencing lower back pain, the needles will be placed into your lower back muscles. At Advanced Health we practice Dry Needling only.
